Captain Vincent E. Brunton Way” has been renamed in honor of the New York City Fire Department captain who was killed in the September 11 attacks. This stretch of 10th Avenue is also known as “John P. Devaney Boulevard” in honor of the late firefighter who lost his life trying to save the occupants of a burning Red Hook building in 1989.
